LOOK: Ilocos Sur archdiocese appeals to stop killings

Image
VIGAN CITY – All churches under the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia in Ilocos Sur have placed tarpaulins calling for a stop to the killings of drug suspects in the country. Among the messages on the tarpaulins are “Dika Mamapatay” (Do not kill), “Respetaren ti Biag” (Respect Life) and “No to Illegal Drugs”. “What kind of values are we passing on to our next generation if we say that these are normal? These incidents are not normal. This is a form of silent protest na ang mga nangyayari ay hindi na tama," Archbishop Marlo Peralta said. "Kawawa itong mga napapatay, how about their families? Walang susuporta sa kanila. Para sa amin sa simbahan, rehab hindi rubout,” Peralta said. The archdiocese will also include in all its Masses a prayer for the victims of the killings, their family, and the government. A total of 39 drug suspects have been killed in Ilocos Sur since the government implemented its bloody war against illegal drugs in July.

The hospital has put “fantasy theme” decorations as part of their annual activity of giving their staff the venue to showcase their creativity.  The whole first floor became a nursery, with different kinds of toys displayed everywhere. The second floor was invaded by aliens. So sa story habang naglalakbay sila at hinahanap yung happiness na gusto nila, naglakbay sila at nang malaman nila nag-build narin sila ng house dito they found happiness in the arms of Jesus” Nikki Marielle Cayanan said.  Miniature of spaceships with different shapes and colors were hanged in the hospital aisle. Topping my list, my classmates - I believe that in every journey meeting new people will always be one of the greatest parts of it. I was able to found new friends in different fields making our learning productively diverse in nature. Our class is compose of educators, researchers, information officers and others who are employed to different local government units, government agencies and development organizations.  Second, our Professors – for this semester our class is under three of the most brightest, supportive, and approachable development communicators. They make sure that we are instructed well to make our self-study to modules, supplemental readings and even in our online discussions productively. Professors Tagle, Fuchigami and Dacawe also make it to the point that important things are well discussed during our once a month face-to-face discussions.  With a hectic schedule in my job most of the times, the mode of learning in the Open University is m
