Photo Walk: Capture the Vigan Experience
Photographers joins the 1st Vigan Photo Walk
VIGAN CITY – Tagged as “Capture the Vigan
Experience”, the local government in this city organized their first ever photo
walk.
The participants were photographers from different
places in Luzon.
The activity aims to capture the beauty of different
tourist spots in Vigan such as Plaza Salcedo, St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral,
Syquia Mansion, Pagburnayan and the picturesque Calle Crisologo.
The photographs will be used to promote Vigan on
different social networking sites and websites.
“Magandang advertisement ito ng Vigan dahil sa mga
makukuhang larawan mas lalong mapapamahal o maeenganyo ang mga turista sa
lungsod. All participants are encourage to post or upload to different social
networking sites ang mga pictures para mas maraming makakita” Vigan Photo Walk
Organizer Jesse Alegre said.
Travel photographer Rolly Magpayo assisted
the participants and even gave them a short lecture.
“Dapat ang kinukuhang larawan may istorya, may purpose
ang mga pictures at dahil travel photography ito ang pinanka objective is to
invite” Rolly Magpayo said.
Magpayo added that with the advancement of technology
were a great number of people around the world being addicted in taking
pictures even with their cellular and smart phones; it is still important to
make every photographs artistically and relevant.
Among the participants is Rosabel Mangoba together
with her father and sibling.
“The challenge here is to put more creativity, na
kapag nakita ng mga tao ang mga kukunan na larawan mapapa-wow sila” Rosabel
Mangoba said.
The 1st Vigan Photo Walk is part of the
2017 Binatbatan Festival of the Arts that promotes the artistry of the Bigueno
as well as the promotion of one of their most important product abel iloko.
Vigan City is now becoming one of the most visited
tourist destination in the country after it was hailed as one of the New7Wonder
Cities of the World. The city is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Some of the photographs that made it to the final cut
were taken by local photographer Christian Roca and student journalist Kenneth
Raposas.
In Roca’s photograph a model can be seen learning
history at the Syquia Mansion, the house where the former President Elpidio
Quirino lives.

Kenneth Raposas photograph shows the famous calesa

Photos are judged base on relevance, technical
excellence and over-all impact.
